Horeb
The Horeb Nature Reserve is located 7 kilometers from the Belén de los Andaquíes municipality and has an extension of circa 100 hectares. A great variety of flora and fauna typical of the Amazonian piedmont region can be found in this Nature Reserve, due to the high degree of forestal conservation and the surrounding, transparent waters of the Sarabando River.
This natural space has several tourist attractions that offer a number of hiking trails where visitors and locals can carry out activities such as ecological trekking, interpretive and photographic safari, mud therapy, swimming in the ponds, and flora and fauna sighting. Other activities of a more scientific, pedagogical, and sensorial nature are also available such as bird watching, identification of small mammal species, and other environmental education activities that are carried out with students of regional schools and universities, where they learn to recognize and value the biodiversity of their territory.
The sound diversity of this reserve is wonderful. With the water always present through countless streams and waterfalls that flow into the Sarabando River, the Horeb lies in the midst of rugged geography with canyons and steep mountains. The different reverberations and acoustic spaces allow for a rich listening experience.
